Fate, It can’t be put into words

People shouldn’t dwell on the past. It’s enough to try your best in all that you’re doing now.

Many of us use our motor abilities to do our tasks everyday. Today, most people ignore the fact that we are lucky to be able to walk, talk or write. They also ignore the fact that we were luckily given this life. It disappoints me so much to see that people commit or attempt suicide because of their problems. They don’t realize that life is a precious thing. Sick people are braver because despite their problems, they still continue on fighting until the end.

I watched this Japanese filmed that truly inspired me. It is entitled One Liter of Tears. It is a true story based on a girl named Aya Kit’s life. Aya is part of a happy family. She is a joyful girl with a positive attitude and big dreams. Her dream is to help other people with all her best. Aya’s life proved that fate couldn’t really be predicted. She was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia or SCA when she was just 15. SCA is a progressive and degenerative disease. It is a rare inherited neurological disorder of the central nervous system characterized by the slow degeneration of certain areas in the brain. It results to your lost of balance, loosing the ability to speak and difficulty in writing and eating. In a sense you can think of it as your body is slowly deteriorating by losing your abilities one by one.

It was a rocky path ahead of her and she couldn’t help but asking Why did this disease choose me?  But that didn’t stop her from living her life. Everyday, she writes in her diary to prove she still lives.

10 years after being diagnosed with SCA, Aya’s life was ended. Her diary was then published and the drama followed. Watching this drama made me realize that we are very lucky to have a chance to live so we must treasure our life.

I truly salute Aya Kit for being a great inspiration and for making me cry One Liter of Tears.

Quotes from Aya’s Diary:

If I were a flower, then now I would be a bud. I shall treasure the beginning of my youth without any regrets.

I really don't want to say things such as 'I want to go back to how things were before.'
I recognize how I am right now, and I will continue to live on.

Fate, it can't be put into words.

People shouldn’t dwell on the past. It’s enough to try your best in all that you’re doing now.

If you look up at the sky after falling down the blue sky is also today
stretching limitless and smiles at me...I'm alive
